Sewing 1
with Kehinde Applewhite

Description: This multi-skill level sewing circle facilitated by Kehinde Applewhite is an intro to sewing and fabric collage. Activities are meant to teach and inspire through the process of sewing and collage.
Supplies: will be included onsite during class instruction, however, if you have your own sewing machine/supplies, bringing them is highly recommended.
Format:
This class will be an in-person class. Masks are recommended but not required. The max capacity for this class is 10 participants.

Cost of class! This class cost $36 ($6 per week for 6 weeks).

Closure Policy: Jubilee Arts will be closed during all major holidays and Baltimore City Public School closures (Thanksgiving, Spring Break, etc.) with the exception of Summer Break. In the event of inclement weather or other local emergencies, we follow Baltimore City Public Schools for closure procedures. Make up classes will only be held at the discretion of the instructor.
End-of-Session Celebration: All participants will present their final projects at our celebration Friday, May 16th at 6:00 PM.

Senior Clay

Description: Open to older adults of all levels, from inexperienced to accomplished ceramic artists. Students will explore the possibilities and limitations of traditional and non-traditional hand-building techniques of creating clay. Creations will be of student’s choice. Craftsmanship will be emphasized throughout the creative process.

Hip Hop
with Mr. Illestrate Latik McNeil

Ages: 8 - 14
Description: Students will learn the basic levels of hip hop. Students will work with world renowned dancer and choreographer Latik McNeil, who has been featured on Netflix, AFRAM, Artscape and more to create a final performance featured at our End of Session Celebration.
Attire: Black leggings and black t shirt OR Black sweat pants/gym pants and black t shirt, comfortable sneakers.

Nurture and Nourish

Description: Nurture and Nourish is a unique and soothing experience where you'll learn to craft beautiful, handmade wellness products that promote relaxation and self-care. Our talented instructor will guide you through each step, ensuring you have a fulfilling and rejuvenating experience.
Attention: If you have sensitivity to smells and fragrances and are uncomfortable in those type on environments, this class may not be for you. Please consult with us before signing up.

Creative Movement (ages 3-5)
with Nia June

Ages: 3 - 5
Description: Introduction to the fundamentals of movement and rhythm through creative exploration and beginner tap technique. Students will develop coordination, musicality, and confidence through imaginative exercises, basic tap steps, and interactive activities. The class fosters self-expression and a love of dance in a fun, supportive environment.
Attire: OPTION1 - black leotard, skin toned tights, pink or skin toned ballet shoes, black tap shoes. OPTION 2 - white t shirt, black leggings/pants/tights, pink or skin toned ballet shoes, black tap shoes.

Contemporary Dance (ages 6-11)

Ages: 6 - 11
Description: Students will learn the basic vocabulary and techniques of Ballet and Contemporary dance. The lessons will culminate in a recital at our End of Session Celebration!
Attire: OPTION1 - black leotard and skin toned convertible tights (tights with hole at the bottom of the foot)shoes are not needed. OPTION 2 - White T shirt and black pants/convertible tights, shoes are not needed
