Line Dance

This choreographed dance program provides opportunities for adult men and women to learn the latest line dances while promoting health and wellness.

All classes will present what they learn during class at our End of Session Celebration Friday, December 4, 6:00pm on Facebook LIVE.

All classes will take place through the virtual classroom platform ZOOM. Before the first day of class Jubilee Arts will email you Zoom link. Once you receive the zoom link you will enter in your name, email, and zip code to access the zoom classroom!   

Pay what you can! We are changing our payment model in these uncertain times. We usually charge $54 ($6 per class) for adult classes. Adult Ceramics

Calendar Oct 6, 2020 at 6 pm, runs for 4 weeks

Hand building class with professional ceramic artist Herb Massie. 5 lbs of Clay and kiln fee included in class fee. Clay tools and glazes are not included. See below for tool recommendations!

Get ready for class! Clay is messy! Prepare your space for working with clay by covering your table with a plastic or canvas table cloth. You will need water and bucket for clean-up. Avoid washing clay into your drain! Rinse all clay tools into a bucket (ask your instructor how to dispose of the water). Store all of your in-progress work tightly in plastic until you are finished shaping your work. A kiln firing schedule will be provided to you during your class.

Ceramic tools: can be purchased online here (amazon) or  here (local store). You can use items around your home to make clay, such as plastic forks, old credit cards/hotel keys, more recommendations here! Information about glazes will be provided during your class.

Senior Clay

Calendar Oct 7, 2020 at 10 am, runs for 8 weeks

Open to adults of all levels, from inexperienced to accomplished ceramic artist. Students will explore possibilities and limitations of traditional and non-traditional hand building techniques of creating clay. Creations will be of student’s choice. Craftsmanship will be emphasized through out the creative process.

Class includes 5lbs of clay and kiln fees, class does not include tools or glazes. See below for notes on tools!

African Dance

Join Queen T as she demonstrates how to dance Sunu, from the west African country of Mali. The Sunu dance is named after a well known dancer, suna Mama D. The whole family is wlecomed to join in on the dancing fun! 

Wear clothes you can comfortablly move in, a Lapa (optional), bare feet or flexible shoes. Clear out a space in your home or outside to dance! Don't forget your water bottle!

All classes will take place through the virtual classroom platform ZOOM. On the first day of class Jubilee Arts will email you the login link and phone number to call if you do not have video capacity.

Just Dance!

Move with a purpose alongside Ms. Ja'Qual as she teaches basic modern dance techniques for all ages! This is a family friendly class, so everyone can have fun at home! 

Siblings are welcomed! If you do have more than one child interested please fill out separate registration forms for our records.

Adult Sewing

Jubilee Arts' virtual sewing class is a place to learn new skills, connect with like minded makers and share your sewing projects!

The purpose of this class is to prepare you with basic knowledge of the sewing machine and to give you an opportunity to practice basic sewing skills. The objectives of the class are to learn the following: a brief history of sewing, basic sewing tools and terminology, basic pattern reading, fabric anatomy, basic hand sewing skills, basic sewing machine operation and how to complete a sewing project.  No experience necessary. If you don't have a sewing machine please contact us. In the class, you will also build a community of makers with varying degrees of experience who will share their skills and help pass down this tradition to others."

If you are looking for more advanced skills give us a call and we can let you know if the instructor is able to accommodate your learning goals. The advanced beginner class is available once you have completed the beginner benchmark skills. Fabric and supplies not included.
