The purpose of this class is to prepare you with basic knowledge of the sewing machine and to give you an opportunity to practice basic sewing skills. The objectives of the class are to learn the following: a brief history of sewing, basic sewing tools and terminology, basic pattern reading, fabric anatomy, basic hand sewing skills, basic sewing machine operation and how to complete a sewing project. No experience necessary. If you don't have a sewing machine please contact us. In the class, you will also build a community of makers with varying degrees of experience who will share their skills and help pass down this tradition to others."
If you are looking for more advanced skills give us a call and we can let you know if the instructor is able to accommodate your learning goals. The advanced beginner class is available once you have completed the beginner benchmark skills. Fabric and supplies not included.
